Spotlight on Emergency Medicine

The Arab Health Congress is known for delivering the highest quality of CME to medical professionals in the region. Attended by more than 13,700 delegates from around the globe, the conference programme brings together medical professionals from around the world together to exchange ideas and share experiences.

For the 2017 edition, delegates have the opportunity to be a part of 14 conference tracks that have been curated keeping the latest advancements in mind.

A new addition to Arab Health 2017, the Emergency Medicine conference will be an important meeting point for professionals involved in emergency care in pre-hospital and hospital settings who are committed to high quality healthcare delivery with compliance to the latest standards and best practice.

The conference will feature key new research, findings and best practices to improve patient outcomes. Sessions include airway management, CVS disorders, critical care and several focus areas important for Emergency Physicians with the common goal of ‘Thought Leadership for Critical Decisions’.

Focus on Oncology

New for this year, the Oncology Conference at Arab Health 2017 will be focusing on the advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of different diseases. Discussions will incorporate new radiation technologies, real life case assessments and a concentration on the most important regional cancer issues.

Playing host to both local and international oncology experts, this conference will bring together practicing oncology specialists, nurses and radiologists, providing accredited continuing professional development, and the opportunity for dialogue on educational and research issues.

The Role of Big Data in Healthcare

One topic that has been gaining traction these days is the role Big Data plays in healthcare. The last decade has seen huge advances in the amount of data we routinely generate and collect in almost everything we do, as well as our ability to use technology to analyse and understand. The intersection of these trends is what is termed Big Data.

With the healthcare industry in the Middle East set to grow to US$71bn by 2020, the amount of data produced and gathered during this time will present a great opportunity to business leaders to develop the market even further. However, the region still faces challenges in not only how to efficiently capture the data, but how to correctly analyse and utilise the information for further improvement in patient care.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the 5th Big Data Conference at Arab Health is free to attend and will focus on where data analysis can most effectively be used for the benefit of the patient, with new topics ranging from population health, to electronic health records and clinical decision support.

3D Medical Printing Zone

The impact of 3D printing in healthcare has already been ground-breaking, with vascular tissue being produced and developments now pointing towards printing entire functioning organs for transplant and not just models to assist in medical procedures.

At last year’s edition, the 3D Medical Printing Zone proved to be quite popular among visitors. The zone hosted leading global research groups and pioneering technology companies showcasing the latest major medical advances of 3D printing. Visitors were able to gain first-hand experience of the remarkable anatomic models that were on display and being printed live on the show floor.

Following up on the success from last year, the next edition of the event will be hosting leading international experts who will be giving insights on how 3D printing is being used today, and what the realistic timelines are for future developments of the phenomenon at the 3D Medical Printing Conference.

The dedicated 3D printing in healthcare conference at Arab Health will highlight several topics in the field of 3D bioprinting and will touch on subjects such as smart bioinks, 3D printing for planning surgical procedures, 3D printing of blood vessels, printing of vascular channels for thick tissue regeneration, and more, including the legal and ethical debates surrounding the technology, along with a look at how 3D bioprinting of complete organs such as the pancreas and kidney, can be achieved.

At Arab Health you will be able to find out first-hand how 3D printing is set to revolutionise the healthcare industry. The dedicated 3D printing zone at the event will offer a unique open space and has been devised as a dedicated educational experience for all who are interested in learning more about the latest 3D technologies entering the MENA market for the first time. Here you can observe and learn from pioneers in the field of 3D bio printing with hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations. The exhibition will bring together different companies that are at the forefront of developing, and successfully commercialising, this ground-breaking technology.
